License-Free Door Access.
Enterprise-Grade Security.
A modern, PoE-powered access control system built on open standards — simple to deploy across a single door or a 100-door campus, with no per-door license fees, ever. AIT designs, installs, and supports your entire system turn-key.

See how the Smart Access Platform and the latest reader family works — hands-free mode, Face ID unlock, QR visitor access, and the compact Door Hub Mini. We install and configure all of it.
How It Works
Five interconnected layers deliver seamless, secure access — from the moment someone approaches a door to the event logged in the cloud.
User Credential
Tap NFC card, use the mobile app via Bluetooth, enter a PIN, wave a hand, or scan a license plate. Multiple methods simultaneously.
Access Reader
The PoE-connected reader captures the credential and sends an encrypted request to the Access Control Hub over your existing network.
Control Hub
The hub validates against stored access policies and time schedules, then triggers the door lock relay — all in milliseconds.
Door Lock
Fail-safe or fail-secure electric lock releases. Door position sensor confirms open/close state. Chimes or sirens can trigger.
Cloud & App
Every event is logged with live video, accessible remotely via the web console or mobile app. Instant alerts on unauthorized attempts.
Hardware Ecosystem
Every piece connects over standard PoE — no proprietary wiring, no hidden costs. AIT supplies, installs, and warrants the full stack.
Management Console
The brain of the system. Runs the Smart Access Platform application, stores all access policies, credentials, and event history. Accessible from anywhere via the management cloud portal.
Access Control Hub
The broker between your locks and readers. Manages relay terminals for locks, door operators, chimes, sirens, and motion sensors. Supports up to 8 doors per Enterprise Hub.
Access Reader
The user-facing device mounted at each door. Supports NFC, Bluetooth, PIN, hand-wave, and doorbell calls with two-way audio. Single PoE cable.
Electric Lock
Choose fail-safe (magnetic — power to lock) or fail-secure (strike — power to unlock). Wires directly to hub relay terminals. 12 VDC powered by hub or external supply.
PoE Switch
Provides network connectivity and power to all Access devices through a single cable. Mission Critical switch option provides battery backup for 24/7 uptime during power outages.
Retrofit Hub
Upgrade your existing legacy access control system without replacing any wiring. Compatible with third-party Wiegand readers. A two-door solution that modernizes in place.
Ways to Unlock
From hands-free to high-security two-factor, every method works simultaneously on the same reader.
Mobile App (BLE)
Unlock with a tap in the mobile app using Bluetooth Low Energy. No card needed — works on iOS and Android. Hands-free mode available for touchless entry.
NFC Card / Keyfob
AES-128 and ECDSA encrypted cards prevent duplication. Works instantly — just tap the reader. Cards available in packs for teams and visitor programs.
PIN Code
4, 6, or 8-digit PIN codes. Ideal for common areas, shared spaces, or as a backup credential. Configurable per user with lockout after failed attempts.
Hand Wave (Touchless)
Completely touchless entry using proximity detection — ideal for clean rooms, medical facilities, food service environments, or high-traffic main entrances.
License Plate Recognition
Integrates with IP Camera Platform AI cameras to recognize vehicles and trigger gate or door access automatically — no credential needed for authorized vehicles.
Two-Factor Auth
Require any two methods simultaneously (e.g., NFC + PIN) or approver confirmation within a configurable time window for high-security zones.
Built-In Protection
Every component AIT installs ships with enterprise-grade security built into the hardware and firmware — not bolted on as an add-on.
UL 294 Certified
All Access Control Hubs and Readers are UL 294-certified by Accredited Testing Laboratory — meeting Level 1 standards for destructive attack, line security, and endurance testing.
End-to-End Encryption
128-bit AES encryption between hub and readers. AES-128 encrypted card transmissions. Protocol Buffers for data integrity on every request.
Power Redundancy
Mission Critical PoE switch provides battery-backed power. Enterprise Hub supports external backup battery. Access Rescue KeySwitch provides manual override if needed.
Real-Time Monitoring
Live video paired with every access event. Instant alerts on unauthorized attempts. Complete tamper-evident audit trail of every unlock, viewable from any device.

AIT Communication Group serves the entire Chicago metropolitan area, including Cook, DuPage, Lake, Kane, and Will counties in Illinois, as well as northwest Indiana. We serve both commercial and industrial clients across Chicagoland from our office in Lombard, IL.
Project timelines vary based on scope. A small office (24–48 ports) typically takes 1–2 days. A mid-size office (96–288 ports) takes 3–7 days. Enterprise buildouts are scoped individually. All timelines and milestone dates are specified in your written proposal before any work begins.
Yes — every project includes complete documentation: port-by-port test reports (Fluke DSX 8000 for copper, OTDR traces for fiber), cable schedules, rack elevation diagrams, as-built floor plans, and equipment manuals. All documentation is delivered digitally in PDF format at project closeout.
Yes. All copper cabling is tested and certified to TIA/EIA-568 standards using Fluke DSX 8000 testers. Fiber runs are OTDR-certified from both ends. Access control installations meet UL 294 Level 1 standards. Wireless deployments are validated with post-installation heat maps and RF analysis reports.
Absolutely. Many clients come to us with existing infrastructure they want to modernize. We offer retrofit and upgrade services for cabling (re-termination, recertification), wireless (overlay on existing runs), access control (Wiegand reader compatibility), and cameras (analog-to-IP migration). A site assessment tells us exactly what can be reused.
Call us at (224) 366-0078 or use the contact form below to request a free site assessment. One of our certified technicians will schedule a visit, assess your space, and deliver a written proposal with fixed pricing — typically within 48 hours of the site visit. No obligation, no pressure.
